Pocahontas Area School District passes bond

Pocahontas, IA – The Pocahontas Area School District passed a 22-million-dollar bond issue on Tuesday. The bond passed 61.49 % to 38.51 % and the money will go towards paying an 8.3-million-dollar addition to the Pocahontas Elementary School that will provide early childhood and administration services. Other projects will be a new gym at the middle school and high school costing 7.4 million and bus barn and Maintenance building worth 5.4 million.
