Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats won the 3A District 2 Championship on Friday night after defeating Nevada 19-15 and Algona lost to Ballard. The win for Humboldt improved the Wildcats to 8-0 on the season, for the first time since 2005. The Wildcats overcame 6 turnovers and trailed late in the 4th but came back and got this game winning score from Caden Matson to Will Orness.
Wildcats head coach Derrick Elman says he’s proud of his team and their resiliency.
Next up for the Wildcats is the regular season finale against Algona on Friday.
