Katie Schuelke is a 1999 Humboldt High School graduate and went on to play softball at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge and then earned a scholarship to Iowa State University, where she earned All Big-12 honors. Schuelke is also an Iowa Central Hall of Fame inductee and takes over for Doug Van Pelt who coached at Humboldt High School for 25 years.
Schuelke says she is excited to coach at her alma-mater and continue the Wildcats softball tradition.
Schuelke’s coaching experience is being a Student Assistant Coach at Iowa State and Graduate Assistant Coach at St. Cloud State in Minnesota, she has been coaching Rec League sports since her return to Humboldt in 2012.
