Livermore, IA – The City of Livermore will be smoke testing the sewer system next week, this will on Wednesday Oct. 27.
The City of Livermore has a lot of infiltration into the wastewater collection system. The smoke test will find broken pipes and cracks in the city’s collection system. The city has issued the following recommendations.
~The smoke is NOT associated with fire and does NOT smell like smoke
~Make sure floor drains and drain traps are full of liquid
~Broken toilet seals, dry drain traps, and incorrect plumbing can let the TESTING smoke into your house
If you get smoke in your house, PLEASE call City Hall (515-379-1074) and someone will make a visit.
