Fort Dodge Police investigating weekend shooting

Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police is investigating  reports of shots fired last weekend in Fort Dodge. On Saturday at 12:25 pm the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of regarding shots fired in 1200 block of 6th Avenue North in Fort Dodge. Information provided to Police indicated that at least 10 rounds were potentially fired and at least 3 males were seen fleeing the area.

When police arrived on scene they found a 2008 Saturn Vue with several bullet holes in the vehicle.  The initial investigation indicated that the vehicle was parked and occupied in the 500 block of North 12th St when an unknown individual shot at the vehicle, striking it several times. There were no injuries in the incident, but the occupants of the vehicle, all juveniles, were located and talked to police.

The Fort Dodge Police Department continues to investigate this incident, anyone who may have information or video surveillance of the area around this time is encouraged to contact law enforcement. Based on information received,  the incident is believed to be an isolated incident and not a random act.
