Humboldt, IA – Humboldt Head Football Coach Derrick Elman on Friday was named 3A IFCA Regional Coach of the year for the 2021 season for the 2nd year in a row. KHBT talked to Elman about the honor and he says he’s humbled to be recognized by his peers.
The Wildcats went 11-0 in 2021 before falling to eventual state champion Harlan in the State Semi-finals at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. Elman is quick to recognize the role his team played in his Coach of the Year award.
Elman is thankful to be named 3A IFCA Regional Coach of the Year and wants to thank those who have supported him and have helped the program grow.
Elman will be entering his 5th season as head coach of the Wildcats football program next fall.
