Republican candidate for House District 56 visits Humboldt County

Dakota City – A republican candidate running for a house seat of District 56 which includes Humboldt, Hancock and a portion of Wright County introduced himself to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Monday. Mark Thompson grew up on a farm  outside of Eagle Grove, went to Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and was in the Marine Corps for 20 years. He also served 18 years at the Department of State as a counterterrorism leader.  Thompson explains why he is running a house seat of District 56.

Thompson talks about his platform and where he stands on some important issues.

The republican primary election will be in June and Thompson will face off against Jim Nelson. If Thompson wins in June, he will move on to the general election in November.
