Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats boys basketball team improved to 10-0 on the season on Tuesday night after defeating previously unbeaten South Central Calhoun 81-73 in a non-conference showdown. The Wildcats started out fast and built an 11 point lead at 60-49 entering the 4th quarter but the Titans came back to get within 3 in the final minutes before the Wildcats pulled away in the final stretch of the game. Here’s Wildcat’s Head Coach Jason Thurm on the win.

Though Thurm is pleased with his team’s performance he says there are things to improve on moving forward.

Next up for the Wildcats is a home game against unbeaten Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Thursday for 1st place in the North Central Conference.

On the girls side, Humboldt fell to South Central Calhoun 81-73. Morgan Mann had 20 points for the Wildcats in the loss. Humboldt Head Coach Rodd Mooney says that falling behind early was tough to comeback from.

The Wildcats fall to 7-6 overall and host Clarion Goldfield-Dows on Thursday.
