Huxley, IA -The Humboldt Wildcats Wrestling team competed at the 2A District 1 Tournament on Saturday and sent 4 wrestlers to the State Tournament, The Wildcats had 1 District champion in Joe Weydert at 152 lbs, Cyler Cirks, DJ Muir and Jayden Gargano, each placed 2nd to join Weydert at State. Owen Mayall, Dusty Pate and Ty Gargano each placed 4th, while Jase Goodell placed 3rd.
State Wrestling begins at 9 AM from the Wells Fargo Arena on Thursday.
Here are the first round Matchups for the Wildcats:
At 106 Cyler Cirks takes on Ethan Skogland on Sargeant-Bluff-Luton
At 120 DJ Muir faces Carson Less of West Delaware
At 126 Jayden Gargano will face Bo Koedam of Sargeant Bluff-Luton
And at 152 Joe Weydert will face Isaiah Fenton of Notre Dame-West Burlington
