HCSD School Board moves forward facilities upgrade

Dakota City, IA – At Monday’s Humboldt Community School District Board meeting the board voted unanimously to approve a motion to borrow funds for facilities upgrades in the school District. Humboldt Community Superintendent Jim Murray has some details.

Murray says additional upgrades include building more restrooms at the sports complex and improving the football field at the high school.

Murray says the board voted to borrow funds and seek a loan to pay for the improvements and use sales tax revenue dollars to pay for that loan. Next steps are to work with architects on the projects and receive bid proposals in the future. Murray says the district hopes to receive bids for the athletic complex in May, and August to receive bids for additional classroom areas at Taft Elementary and the Middle School.
