2022 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships – Day 1 Results

Des Moines, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats Boys’ and Girls’ Track teams were in Des Moines for the first day of the 2022 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships on the campus of Drake University today in front of an almost capacity crowd of 13,896. The meet will run until Saturday, May 21.

The results from Day 1 for the Wildcats are as follows:

THURSDAY

Girls’ Discus Throw 

Ashlynn Works (So.) – 14th place (114-11) *(PR)*

Boys’ 4 x 110 Meter Shuttle Hurdle (Preliminary)

Jordan Coon (Sr.), Corey Dettman (So.), Keegan Groat (Fr.)Caden Matson (Sr.) – 5th – 1:01.16 (Qualified for Finals on Saturday @ 12:15 p.m.) *(Season Best)*

Girls’ High Jump

Morgan Mann (Fr.) – T-16th (4-10.00)

Boys’ 4 x 800 Meter Relay

Jackson Dodd (Fr.), Mason Van Pelt (Fr.), Jackson Chambers (Sr.)Trevor Jacobson (Sr.) – 18th (8:32.69)

Girls’ 400 Meter Dash

Morgan Mann (Fr.) – 17th (1:03.28)

The Wildcats are back in action tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. from Drake Stadium for the second day of events in the 2022 Iowa High School Track & Field Championships. KHBT will have live coverage of the events with updates over the air.
