Humboldt Wildcats’ sports for June 20

Humboldt, IA- The Humboldt Wildcats baseball and softball teams are back in action this evening to kick off another week of Wildcat sports.

The Humboldt Wildcats Baseball team ends its three day layoff with a conference game tonight, as they travel to Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School to take on the Cowboys. The Wildcats are on a two game skid, falling to Webster City on Wednesday and Spirit Lake on Thursday. The Wildcats enter this week at 12-4 (8-2 NCC), currently ranking at second in the conference behind Webster City. The Cowboys of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows check into the game tonight with a mark of 5-16 (0-8 NCC), sitting at the bottom of the conference standings. First pitch in Clarion is set for 7:30 p.m. CDT.

The Humboldt Softball team resumes conference play this evening as they host Clarion-Goldfield-Dows after a non-conference tournament in Waukee this past weekend. The Cats dropped two games in Waukee, to Iowa City High 8-1 and to Des Moines East 3-2. The Wildcats come into this week with a current record of 9-6 (4-4 NCC), currently placing the Wildcats in a tie with the Algona Bulldogs for third. The Cowgirls of Clarion-Goldfield-Dows sport a record of 3-13 (1-8 NCC), currently ranking the Cowgirls last in the conference. First pitch is slated for 7:30 p.m. CDT.

KHBT will carry the live broadcast of the Humboldt Softball game this evening. Pregame will start at 7:20 p.m. CDT.
