Tools needed for Wildcat Wonderland community build

Humboldt, IA – The Wildcat Wonderland community build is quickly approaching and organizers are looking for key pieces of equipment to help facilitate the build. The following pieces of equipment are still in need for the build:

Crane

Quantity needed: 1

To set pre-fabricated roofs into place. Roofs weigh approximately 3,000 lbs., 80 to 100 feet reach. Needed on Saturday after lunch.

*Operator needs to meet on Thursday to discuss site with PBD

Dumpster or dump truck

Quantity needed: 1

Preferably 30 cubic yards. Must be on-site all week for construction debris.

Pop-up Tents

Quantity needed: 10

At least one should be 15′ x 15’ for a volunteer sign-in table.

Electric extension cords, 25’-50’

Quantity needed: 35

#12 or #14 wire. All cords must have a ground wire with the ground prong properly connected.

Electric gang boxes

Quantity needed: 3

Must be #10 or #12 wire with ground and with 4 plug-ins on the end.

Electric lead cords, 100’

Quantity needed: 3

Each must be #10 or #12 wire with ground and with 4 to 6 plug-ins on the end. See illustration for main distribution from panel to site.

This is a very specific type of saw—no substitutions. Discuss with project manager if you have questions.

Drills, 3/8”

Variable speed and reversible. Tape chuck keys to cords on all drills. Have extra chuck keys on hand. Cordless drills are also very useful. Have 2 batteries and a charger for each one. At least 12 heavy-duty cordless impact drivers are the best option.

Cordless Impact Driver, 1/4″ hex

Quantity needed: 30

Chuck accepts 1″ bit tips. Variable speed and reversible. Have 2 batteries and charger for each one.

Cordless Impact Driver, 1/2″ drive

The first portion of the build will start on August 8 and go through August 10. The second portion of the community build will run from August 16-20.
