Two injured in Fort Dodge shooting

Fort Dodge, IA – The Fort Dodge Police Department released the following press release regarding a shooting at the Dodger Apartment on Saturday.

“On Saturday, November 5th, at approximately 8:01 P.M., the Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of the Dodger Apartments in Fort Dodge. Callers advised that they saw multiple vehicles leaving the area as well as people on foot after the shots were fired.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and located multiple individuals. Additionally, officers located two victims that had sustained gunshot wounds. The two victims were transported to Unity Point‐Trinity Regional Medical Center and treated for non‐life‐threatening injuries.

Upon further investigation from the patrol officers of the Fort Dodge Police Department, witnesses were located in the area as well as physical evidence was collected. Members of the Criminal Investigation Division were called in to assist with the investigation. This investigation
is ongoing, and we will provide updates as they become available.

At this time investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on this incident. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. With all investigations, any video evidence is essential to resolving an incident and we encourage citizens in this area to contact the police department with video footage they may have. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers. The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriffs Office, the Iowa State Patrol, and Fort Dodge Fire.”
