Webster City, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats boys wrestling team competed in Class 2A Districts at Webster City High School on Saturday as they looked to send wrestlers to the state meet this Wednesday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
The Cats would end up with five wrestlers advancing to Wells Fargo Arena, with three district champions in Cyler Cirks at 113, Jase Goodell at 152, and Gaige Allen at 182. The Cats also had two district runner-up placers to advance to state in Jayden Gargano at 126 and Brady Beers at 138.
Head coach Chad Beaman expressed how proud he was of his five wrestlers.
Humboldt placed second as a team in the team scores with 166 points, trailing Webster City who placed first in team points with 204.
Wrestling for the five Wildcats will begin in the 1:30 p.m. session in Des Moines on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
