Humboldt HS has situation with law enforcement Tuesday

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt High School had an incident Tuesday which involved law enforcement.

In a letter to parents via email obtained by KHBT, principal Dr. Paul Numedahl addressed parents making them aware of a situation involving law enforcement where a student sent threatening messages to others.

The letter is below:

“Good afternoon,

Please be aware of a situation involving law enforcement at the high school today. The incident concerned threatening messages sent from a student to others. School administration and local law enforcement investigated the incident. The situation was promptly handled. Currently, school officials are following law enforcement guidance and school policy to ensure the safety of all involved.

School safety is a top priority at Humboldt Community School District. Thank you for your support as we continue to provide the safest school experience possible for our Wildcat students.”

The letter states the situation was promptly handled and that the school is currently following the guidance of law enforcement to ensure the safety of all involved.
