Humboldt Girls Track fifth in qualifier, sends two to State Meet

Nevada, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats girls’ track team competed Thursday in the 2023 3A Co-Ed State Qualifying Meet at Nevada High School, with the girls’ team finishing fifth in the team rankings with a score of 87.

The team standings for the event were as follows:

  1. North Polk – 151.50
  2. Clear Lake – 140
  3. Gilbert – 135
  4. Algona – 89
  5. Humboldt – 85
  6. Hampton-Dumont-CAL – 55
  7. Webster City – 39.50
  8. Nevada – 31

Qualifying for the State Tournament after placing in the top two were:

Shot Put

Ashlynn Works (Jr.) – 2nd (35-02.00)

Discus Throw

Ashlynn Works (Jr.) – 2nd (133-04)

High Jump

Morgan Mann (Fr.) – 2nd (5-00.00)

The State Meet will be on Thursday, May 18 at Drake University, with 3A at 2:00 p.m.
