Three arrested in break-in and burglary in Bode

Humboldt Co., IA – Three people were arrested last week in Humboldt County stemming from an incident that occurred on May 10 in Bode.

According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 10, deputies responded to 501 2nd St. and met with the victim of the crime. During the course of the field interview with the victim, the victim stated that Lacey Douglas, a defendant in the incident, was inside the house with the victim and proceeded to assault the victim with a bow staff marshal arts weapon. It was then that two individuals outside, 31-year-old Michael Ellison of Bode and 43-year-old Lindsey Douglas broke into the residence by breaking a shut door. During the incident, a Galaxy A7 Lite Tablet was taken in the process.

Lindsey Douglas of Bode was arrested on May 18 and charged with attempted burglary in the 1st degree and theft if the 5th degree and 31-year-old Michael Ellison of Bode was arrested on the 18 and charged with attempted burglary in the 1st degree and criminal mischief in the 5th degree. On May 19, Lacey Douglas turned herself into Humboldt Deputies on the charge of assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.
