Humboldt baseball routs Webster City 13-3; 4-0 in NCC

Webster City, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats baseball team defeated Webster City for their first win against the Lynx since June 24, 2020; with a 13-3 rout of the  Lynx.

Webster City had taken a 1-0 lead after a sac fly off the bat of Briar Klaver, with the Wildcats taking control of the game with an eight-run third inning, adding another run in the fourth and a four-run seventh. Isaiah Busick would pitch the first 6.1 innings, allowing three runs (two earned) with one walk and five strikeouts for the win. Ty Gargano would come in to pitch in relief of Busick, who had to leave the game due to pitch count, and finish off the Lynx for the victory.

Offensively for Humboldt, Mason Van Pelt would pace Humboldt with four RBIs, including a 3 RBI triple and an RBI double.

 

With the win, Humboldt improves to 8-2 (4-0 NCC) and travels to Forest City to face the Indians in non-conference play tonight at 7:30 p.m.
