Fort Dodge PD release name of victim in Sunday night shooting, no arrest made

Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police have released the name of a Fort Dodge man gunned down Sunday night in a shooting. The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Jason Ruffridge of Fort Dodge.

An investigation into the shooting that claimed Ruffridge’s life is currently underway to determine what led to the shooting Sunday night in the 200 Blk. 3rd Ave. N.W.

Multiple officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded after calls were placed to the Webster County Telecommunications center. When officers arrived on scene, they located Ruffridge, who was unresponsive at the time with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life-saving efforts on the Ruffridge until medics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department arrived when he was pronounced deceased on scene.

Investigators are continuing to follow up on this case and encourage anyone with information to reach out to the Fort Dodge Police Department. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
