Sunday night shooting in Fort Dodge leaves one man dead

Fort Dodge, IA – A Death Investigation is underway in Fort Dodge after reports of shots fired left an unidentified male deceased Sunday night.

A call was received by the Webster County Telecommunications Center at approximately 8:42 p.m. Sunday night of someone being shot in the 200 Blk. 3rd Ave. N.W.

Multiple officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department responded and when officers arrived on scene, they located one unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers began life-saving efforts on the male, until medics with the Fort Dodge Fire Department arrived. The male was ultimately pronounced deceased on scene. The deceased males name will not be released at this time until we are certain all next of kin have been properly notified.

At this time investigators are working to determine exactly what took place Sunday night. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
