Humboldt, IA – Humboldt elementary schools Taft and Mease are changing from their traditional Halloween themed parties to fall-themed parties.

Humboldt Community School District’s superintendent Jim Murray tells KHBT news the decision was made to be more inclusive to students within the district.

The Halloween theme parties involved students wearing costumes to school which will no longer be the case as the schools transition to the fall themed festivities. Murray opines that affordability on costumes could be a reason as well.

The fall themed parties for both Taft and Mease will be Nov. 3 and there will be Hay Rack Rides on Nov. 3 if the weather cooperates at Taft and a day earlier on Nov. 2 at Mease.
