Storm Lake man arrested on charges of sexual abuse, incest

Humboldt Co., IA – A Storm Lake man has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse and incest that occurred in Dakota City.

According to a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Gage Rouse of Storm Lake was arrested this morning at a residence in Storm Lake for sexual abuse in the second degree, a class B felony, and incest, a class D felony.

His arrest stems from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office having received a report of a possible sexual abuse back on Oct 3. It was reported that the alleged abuse would have taken place at a residence in Dakota City from approximately 2016 through approximately 2019. According to the complaint, the victim is underaged and occurred while the victim was younger than 12 during the time of the alleged abuse and also has familial blood relation to Rouse.

Rouse was transported to the Humboldt County Jail where he is being held on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Department of Human Services, the Mercy Child Advocacy Center in Sioux City, the Humboldt County Attorney’s Office and the Storm Lake Police Department.
