Humboldt, IA – A Mid-American Energy transformer that is being transported from Des Moines to New Hampton will be passing through Humboldt Wednesday morning.

Humboldt County Engineer Ben Loots stated that the load is 380,000 pounds, one of the heaviest he has seen in his time as county engineer in Humboldt County.

The vehicle could use two lanes in some areas as it heads north on US 169 and to turn on 140th St., traveling east to Montana Ave. where it will then head north before turning west on 130th St., returning back to US 169, where it will head north.

Humboldt County EMA has asked drivers to avoid US 169 from a time window of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
