Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt boys’ basketball team won their home opener 75-55 against the St. Edmond Gaels Friday night.
For Humboldt, Elliot Carlson led the the team with 24 points and Evan Hatcher recorded 18. Sam Mericle led St. Edmond and all scorers with 28 points.
With the win, Humboldt improves to 2-1 (1-0 NCC) and St. Edmond falls to 2-2 (1-1 NCC). The Wildcats travel to Algona to face the Bulldogs 2-1 (0-0 NCC) Tuesday night. Tip-off is slated to follow the girls’ game at approximately 7:45 p.m. and will be carried live on KHBT.
