Humboldt Co., IA – The recent winter storm over the weekend provided for dangerous travel conditions through the area and most of the state. Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger says his deputies were busy this past week as motorists needed assistance.

Two semi-trucks also jackknifed in the county. He recounts Friday’s incident.

Sheriff Kruger says that Humboldt County EMA is in the process of receiving their side-by-side vehicle to be used in emergencies, but says in the meantime, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s office is looking for outside help when dealing with rescues if need be.

Sheriff Kruger says in winter storms to heed the warnings and to not travel if it is not advised by the proper authorities.
