Second shots fired investigation in last six days underway in Fort Dodge

Fort Dodge, IA – For the second time in the last six days, Fort Dodge Police responded to a shots fired incident.

According to a press released, the incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at approximately 12:52 p.m. It was at that time when the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a call of a shot fired in the area of the 1600 block of 5th Ave. S. After officers arrived on scene, they discovered that the single shot actually occurred in the 1700 block 5th Ave. S.

The Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. They encourage anyone who may have seen or heard anything to contact law enforcement. The press release asks residents with any video evidence to contact them. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

The incident comes after a shots fired report was taken on March 8 in the 1800 block of 1st Ave. S. That incident also remains under investigation.
