Humboldt, IA – The Area Competition for Special Olympics Track and Field is taking place at the Humboldt Recreation Center this morning and afternoon. Humboldt special Olympics coach Ashley Mohr says it’s the first year that Humboldt has been a host.
The competition will start at approximately 9:30 a.m. with opening ceremonies with the drill team performing and the marching band introducing all of the teams in attendance. Humboldt will specifically have a send off from the schools that will lead to the recreation center. Humboldt’s cheerleaders and choir will also be in attendance and special needs students will work in the Cat Café on site.
