Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution to hold a public sale of the Joe Reasoner Dam in Humboldt to the non-profit R.I.V.E.R. Development, Inc. group.

Humboldt County Conservation Director Todd Lee stated that there were conditions included in the sale such as granting construction access to the R.I.V.E.R. Development, Inc. group, the county would act as an applicant for FEMA grants, and all future liability would be assumed by the group.

The resolution was the second step in the process of the sale of the Joe Reasoner Dam to R.I.V.E.R. Development, Inc. after the motion was made at a special meeting for the Humboldt County Conservation Board on Tuesday of last week to start the process. The public sale, the next step in the process, will be held on Monday, June 3 at 8:45 a.m.
