Hull, IA – Humboldt and Western Christian battled in three tightly contested sets with the Wolfpack sweeping the Wildcats to advance to the 2024 State Tournament.
The Wolfpack trailed by five at one point in the first set to Humboldt before tying the set at 17-17 and a 5-0 run late in the set led to Western Christian winning the first set 25-20. The Wolfpack and Wildcats would have another two close matches with Humboldt holding a lead in each before the Wolfpack won 25-16 and 25-18.
With the win, Western Christian advanced to their state-record 24th consecutive State Tournament. Humboldt wrapped up 2024 at 23-10 (7-0 NCC), their first outright undefeated NCC title and 20-win season since 2021.
