HCMH asks for increase in annual funding from Humboldt County BOS

Dakota City, IA – Humboldt County Memorial Hospital is asking the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors for a $20,000 increase in annual funding for their Public Health Department.

The hospital currently has a $247,000 dollar operating loss in Public Health and the last three years has received $95,000 in funding from the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors.

According to data from 2023, there were 18 counties in the state, including Humboldt, that provided less than $100,000 of funding to their counties’ Public Health departments.
