Humboldt, IA – Four Humboldt wrestlers punched their ticket to the 2025 Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Boys’ Wrestling State Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena next week after the 2A-7 District Tournament at Humboldt High School on Friday.
Cyler Cirks at 132 pounds will be heading to the State Tournament as a district champion for the third time in four years after missing out last year.
Tyce Clarken at 138 pounds won a district title and will be appearing at the well for the second consecutive year.
Landon Halverson at 175 won a district title in his senior year, marking the first trip for the senior to the state tournament.
Humboldt sophomore Broedy Hendricks at 190 is now a two-time district champion and looks to improve upon a state runner-up finish from a year ago at the state tournament.
The Wildcats won the district championship with a team score of 191, narrowly beating district runner-upn West Marshall with 189 team points.
That’s Humboldt head boys wrestling coach Chad Beaman on the team’s performance during the tournament. The Class 2A session of the 2025 IHSAA State Tournament begins Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.
