Des Moines, IA – Day two of the Class 2A session of the 2025 Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Boys’ State Wrestling Tournament wrapped up Thursday night from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines with Humboldt advancing three wrestlers to the semifinals, guaranteeing themselves a spot on the podium.
No. 11 at 132 pounds Cyler Cirks (Humboldt) advanced to semifinals with a win by an 11-8 decision over No. 5 Mason Avila (Decorah) in the quarterfinal round.
Cirks will face No. 7 Carter Cajthaml (New Hampton/Turkey Valley) in the Semifinals Friday night.
No. 4 at 138 pounds Tyce Clarken (Humboldt) won by a 15-4 major decision over No. 5 Cadyn Wild (Assumption, Davenport) in the quarterfinals.
Clarken will face No. 1 Landen Davis (Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont) in the Semifinal Round Friday night.
At 175, No. 15 Landon Halverson (Humboldt) won by fall over No. 16 Austin Boege (Nevada) (Fall 1:23) in second consolation round, but would fall by a 4-2 decision to No. 8 Dain Burkhart (Fairfield) in the consolation third round.
Halverson ends his senior season with a 2A-7 District Title and a record of 43-10.
No. 4 at 190 Broedy Hendricks (Humboldt) won in sudden victory – 1 over No. 5 Thomas Sexton (Decorah) (SV-1 8-5) in the quarterfinals.
Hendricks will face No. 1 Brenden Heying (Benton Community) in the Semifinal Round Friday night.
