Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt swore in two new members of their police department at Monday’s city council session.
Officer Daniel Cotterill is rejoining the department as a full-time officer and Officer Lonny Floen is currently serving as a part-time officer. Officer Cotterill started back with the department on February 25 after serving the department in 2024. Officer Floen began his part-time tenure with the Humboldt Police Department on January 7.
The department now has five police officers, which includes Police Chief Jacob Miller. Chief Miller was hired on in November of 2024 and has slowly revamped a department that had dwindling numbers in 2024.
