The city prohibits the parking on public streets whenever one or more inches of snow, sleet or freezing rain is; either on the ground, in the process of falling and/or forecasted. The city says the ban allows for unobstructed roadways, which in turn helps the initiation and completion of ice and snow removal operations. Exceptions may apply to streets and avenues where parking has otherwise been limited and so posted.
The City of Fort Dodge says due to forecasted high winds and snow, recycling collection is being moved from Wednesday to Friday this week. The move impacts addresses east of 15th St., except for the area from the Canadian National Railway tracks south to Patterson Field Rd.
