Rolfe man arrested on multiple charges in alleged assault

Rolfe, IA – An alleged assault in Pocahontas County landed a Rolfe man behind bars on multiple charges.

According to a press release from the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, sheriff’s deputies with the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault in Rolfe on June 22 at approximately 12:30 a.m. On scene, deputies found a male victim who had sustained minor injuries during the alleged assault.

After an investigation, authorities arrested 38-year-old David Pineda Medrano and charged him with: going armed with intent (Class D felony), first-degree harassment (aggravated misdemeanor), and assault causing bodily injury (serious misdemeanor).

Medrano has his preliminary hearing on July 2 and his arraignment is scheduled for July 28.
