Dakota City, IA – A Humboldt County supervisor announced her intent to resign at Monday’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors’ session.

Sandy Loney, who is the District 2 Supervisor, made her announcement during the general public comment period.

Loney says she has an opportunity to be closer near family and is a big factor behind her decision to resign on Nov. 15.

Supervisor Co-Chair Bruce Reimers gave Loney thanks on behalf of the board for her service.

Loney’s position can be filled either by a special election or appointment. The Humboldt County Auditor’s Office says they will have more details regarding the next steps in the future vacancy on the board.
