Humboldt, IA – A one-vehicle accident in Humboldt Wednesday night resulted in no serious injuries.
According to the Iowa State Patrol Trooper Glenn Smith, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a 2025 Nissan Murano Platinum SUV was traveling northbound on Highway 169 at the intersection of 6th Ave. N. In Trooper Smith’s statement on scene, he says that the driver, Ruth Lindgren of Algona, struck a tree and a fire hydrant on the west side of the roadway, proceeding to roll over once in the southbound lane. Lindgren told authorities on scene she had “got hot” and the next thing she knew, she was upside down.
Lindgren, who was the lone occupant in the vehicle, was transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital with minor non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the accident report, the vehicle was totaled and there was $1,500 worth of damage to the fire hydrant. There were no citations issued.
Assisting on scene was the Iowa State Patrol, the Humboldt Police Department, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, The Humboldt volunteer Fire Department, Humboldt EMS. The vehicle was towed away on scene by Jergen’s wrecker service.
