Humboldt, IA – Humboldt Head Volleyball Coach Kara Waldorf was named the 2025 Class 3A Coach of the Year by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association for volleyball.
Waldorf led Humboldt to a historic 33-7 season. Humboldt had numerous accolades in 2025 under Waldorf. In her third season leading the program, Humboldt captured the 2025 NCC title outright by sweeping every opponent in conference play for the second time in program history, earned the one seed to host a regional final for the first time, advanced to the program’s second state tournament appearance, won a state tournament match for the first time in program history, and captured a state runner-up finish for the first time in 46 seasons of Humboldt volleyball.
