Humboldt, IA – Public officials are making the public aware of a multi-agency exercise in Humboldt on Tuesday.
Humboldt County Memorial Hospital (HCMH) and the Humboldt County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) will be conducting a full-scale multiple casualty incident exercise on Tuesday, May 12. The traning exercise is scheduled to last from 5 p.m. to approximately 7:30 p.m. at both the Humboldt County Fairgrounds and HCMH campus.
Humboldt County Emergency Management Agency Director Kyle Bissell says, “Emergency responders and hospital personnel will be actively participating in this exercise, which is designed to test preparedness and response capabilities in a realistic, real-world scenario. The exercise will focus on evaluating team performance while also identifying opportunities for growth.”
“During this time, residents should expect a large presence of law enforcement and first responders at both locations. This is only a training exercise, Bissell emphasizes. “For the safety of all involved and to allow responders to operate effectively, the public is asked to refrain from entering the exercise areas unless there is an actual emergency.”
