Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Farmers Market returns this Saturday, June 27, from 8 a.m. to noon in downtown Humboldt with its annual Touch-a-Truck event.
The market will once again fill the 600 block of Sumner Avenue, with “Touch-a-Truck” activities running from 9 a.m. to noon. Organizers say a variety of emergency vehicles, semis, tractors and other equipment will be on display for children and families to explore.
Additional activities include free bicycle helmets for the first 60 children, courtesy of Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, root beer floats from the Humboldt Public Library, and face painting.
Market organizer Kelsey Flot says the event has become popular with families and visitors of all ages.
“It’s truly for all ages. I’ve seen all ages get really excited about getting up close to an ambulance or a fire truck.”
More than 20 vendors are expected to attend, offering baked goods, honey, flowers, crafts, books, lavender products, sourdough bread and more. Live music will be provided by Joe Hadar.
The Humboldt Farmers Market is held on the second and fourth Saturdays from May through September. Additional information is available at humboldtfarmersmarket.com and on the market’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
