Humboldt County, IA – A 19-year-old Clarion man was injured in a rollover crash Tuesday night in rural Humboldt County.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says Rubin Lux Medina was northbound on York Avenue, just south of 110th Street, at approximately 10:48 p.m. Tuesday when he fell asleep while driving.
According to the accident report, Medina traveled onto the east shoulder. He woke up and overcorrected, crossing the roadway and entering the west ditch. The 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix rolled onto its top. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
Medina, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was transported by Renwick EMS to Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion with minor injuries.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash and no citations were listed in the report.
