Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Farmers Market returns to downtown Humboldt this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. The market will be held at Parley Finch Plaza on the 600 block of Sumner Avenue, with a full lineup of vendors.
The Humota Theater will have children’s activities, popcorn and shaved ice, while the Humboldt Public Library will hold a fundraiser to help with the cost of a new air conditioning system.
“The Humboldt Public Library is doing a pick a bucket fundraiser. They need a new air conditioner. It’s a very spendy project,” said organizer Sammi Pals.
Pals say the most recent August market was busier than expected, and they’re hoping for another strong turnout Saturday.
“In the past, the August and September markets have historically been quieter, but this last Saturday, it was a lot busier than any other August market ever has been. We were very pleased.”
The market runs Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Parley Finch Plaza. This week’s market is sponsored by One Shot Flooring and Tile. The final two markets of the season after Saturday are September 12 and September 26.
