Iowa Cities to Host Forums for Democratic 2020 Candidates

Des Moines, IA — The Des Moines Register announced that 20 candidates running for the Democratic nomination will be visiting Iowa this month while participating in town forums.

Each event is scheduled to be in a different city during the week of June 15th and will have a consistent starting time of 2pm with candidates allotted 30 minutes for questioning. The event’s moderators include Des Moines Register’s opinion editor Kathie Obradovich and Radio Iowa’s News Director O. Kay Henderson.

June 15th is the first forum which will happen in Des Moines and features Cory Booker (D-NJ) and former VP Joe Biden (D-DE). On Tuesday June 16th in Davenport Kamala Harris (D-CA) will make an appearance. Wednesday June 17th in Cedar Rapids has Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) slated.

Friday June 19th in Sioux City Senator Elizabeth Warren will lead things off with Rep. Beto O’Rourke to be there as well. The final day on Saturday June 20th in Council Bluffs will have the biggest collection of names with Senator Bernie Sanders (D-VT), Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-IN), and Mayor Bill DeBlasio (D-NY).
