Shag the Drag and load the pantry

Humboldt, IA – Shag the Drag in downtown Humboldt is a fun night of community togetherness that also provides opportunity to support local food shelter.

Reminder that once again you can Shag the Drag through downtown Humboldt this evening from 7 pm to 9 pm. During this time KHBT will be providing two hours of commercial free music. There will once again be a collection going on for the Humboldt County Food Pantry.

Upper Des Moines Opportunity, Inc., who has been running the food pantry since 2018, Outreach Specialist Rebecca Jensen says she appreciates the donations that have been coming from the community during Shag the Drag. She would like to thank all who have donated as well as those who have been coordinating the event including Jennifer and Greg Tille, Cory Larson and KHBT.

Jensen says items in high need right now include cereal, plastic bottles of juice, mac & cheese, Hamburger Helper and peanut butter.

The Humboldt County Food Pantry located in the engineers building on Highway 3 across from John Deere. They are currently open every Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm for curbside service only. They ask that all individuals stay in their cars and they will come out to assist you.

Collection during Shag the Drag will be taking place in front of Voltage Ink, look for the black Ram pickup truck.
