Humboldt, IA – HCMH long term care facilities working to allow visitors again while taking a cautious approach.
Humboldt County Memorial Hospital’s Senior Living facilities are working on a plan to safely allow visitors again. Director Community Development Mardi Ratzlaff informs KHBT that leadership teams at Long Term Care, Springvale Assisted Living and Springvale Independent Living are actively working on their reopening guidance’s.
She says they are taking this reopening very cautiously for the safety of the residents. There are many steps they must take before relaxing any restrictions she continues. On Monday, June 8, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released federal guidance for phases of reopening but the final decision on when to allow visitors comes from the local facilities.
Ratzlaff says she and the staff understand the tremendous toll this has taken on their resident who are unable to see their loved ones. They will be letting families of residents know the reopening plan before any information is released to the public.
