4th of July parade finalized and ready to roll

Humboldt, IA – The Independence Day parade in Humboldt is ready to roll Saturday evening.

Details for the 4th of July parade in Humboldt are finalized. On Wednesday, July 1, the parade committee met to finalize all the details for this year’s parade. Committee member Brandy Satern shares the details with KHBT.

Those entered into the parade will line up near Taft Elementary School and Taft Park. The parade will begin by going south down Taft Street. The parade will go all the way to 11th Avenue South where they will turn to reach 5th Street. They will take 5th Street back north and the parade will officially end right before Sumner Avenue at Humboldt City Hall.

The parade will be led by Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger. Satern shares the committee wants to make sure that local veterans are feature in the parade. The Color Guard and VFW will be driving a World War II era Jeep. They will be followed by a group of veterans who will ride on a float and in the Legacy Vets Club on motorcycles.

The parade will also feature many local businesses from the county and city. Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and some of the local area fire departments will also be joining the parade.

Brandy Satern and the local committee would like to thank all those who have helped to put this together, including all the businesses who helped pay for the liability insurance. Humboldt 4th of July parade will start at 7 pm and KHBT will broadcast the parade in its entirety.
