Kruger ran unopposed, receiving 4,838 votes – with 93 write-ins. Kruger, who has been sheriff for more than 12 years, says he is not ready to hang it up quite yet. After serving this term, he says he has at least one more left in him and appreciates the community voting for him.
“It really showed that we had a lot more people voting this time than in the past. I appreciate everyone exercising their rights to vote. I enjoy the job and I’m happy that I’m back in again.”
