Harcourt, IA – On Tuesday, May 25, Humboldt High School softball opened their season with a 7-1 win over Southeast Valley.
Humboldt would get the lead quickly in the top of the first with two runs scored. They got one run in both the second and third innings before going scoreless in the fourth and fifth.
The Wildcats added two more runs in the sixth. Both teams were able to score in the seventh inning to complete the 7-1, Humboldt winning score.
Wildcat pitcher Reagan Lee pitched all seven innings. She gave up four hits, three walks and one earned run. She struck out five batters.
Lee was 2-3 in her at bats with a double and two RBIs. Short stop Jori Hajek was 2-5, also with a double and an RBI. First base Kendal Clark was walked in all five plate appearance with two stolen bases and three runs scored.

Humboldt will start their season off with a 1-0 record. Their next game is Thursday, May 27. It will be their home opener and they will face Manson-NW Webster.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 pm, following the JV game.
