Dakota City, IA – Courthouse technology upgrades are coming to the Humboldt County Courthouse in Dakota City. At Monday’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board heard from Pete Heinrich of Midwest Technology Services and he talked about recabling the courthouse, upgrades to the phone system and changing the door locks to the building.
The recabling part of the project costs $44,919 dollars and includes installing a new data rack in the basement for patch panels and moving the existing equipment racks from the Auditor’s office to the new basement location. Fixing the phone system of the Courthouse includes installing an ip telephone system equipped with 50 telephones, 24 outside lines and voicemail with voicemail to email. The cost for the phone system is $37,640. Midwest Technology will also replace 4 door locks of the building with PDK access for a total of $4,897.80.
The total amount of the courthouse upgrades is $87,456. The project will be paid for with American Rescue Plan funds. The project will take a month to complete and will start late September.
